Mr. Jean-Louis de Montesquiou is a director on the board of Finance Trust Bank. He is a French citizen, obtained a Master in International and European Law and a Master in History from Paris Sorbonne University in 1975.
He spent his whole career to date in the banking industry, first with Banque de L’Union Européenne in Paris, then with JP Morgan in New York, Paris and London, where he co-headed the Department of International Loan Syndications.
He then ran the corporate finance and banking unit of Union Bank of Switzerland in France. In 1998 he set up the French branch of UBS, which he built up to a size of 400 employees. From 2004 to 2008, as Vice-Chairman of UBS Wealth Management, he ran a program of acquisitions of European Private Banks before being involved as senior adviser in the UBS Philanthropy Department.
He also holds several directorships in financial institutions, including Fides Bank Namibia, and is a board member of several charitable institutions, including EORTC and the American Library in Paris. He is also a contributor to a few magazines as well as a town councilor in Mauvezin, France.
